I have always been interested in gundogs and shooting. My first dog was a completely untrained (except by himself) English Springer Spaniel.
Eventually I purchased a part-trained Golden Retriever and was immensely impressed to see what a bit of basic training could do to the efficiency and usefulness of a shooting companion.
So began my lifelong interest in retriever training and competitive gundog work.
My aim has always been to produce a biddable, good looking dog, free of inherited health problems, who can find game.
In the early years I joined
The South Eastern Gundog Society and am now honoured to be President of the Society.
I was appointed to the Kennel Club ‘B’ panel of Field Trial Judges in 1985 and to the ‘A’ panel in 2001.
